Verizon just released yet another new viral video for Ridley Scott's Prometheus, following the amazing TED2023 Talk with Peter Weyland and the David 8 android introduction from Michael Fassbender. This video, debuted on the Verizon FiOS Facebook and called "Quiet Eye", focuses on Noomi Rapace as Elizabeth Shaw, one of the crew on Prometheus who might be the one that reveals the location they travel to. This is one of the best story-focused viral campaigns in quite a while and they're wrapping up by adding even more mystery and questions. You will want to see this video.

Here's the "Quiet Eye" viral video about Elizabeth Shaw, an archaeologist and a believer in God with a "very strong faith", but then of course "things happen and she changes into more of a warrior." Watch in full here:

The script is still being written so that aforementioned teaser trailer was shot just to get the hype machine rolling, but the film will apparently follow the start of the 24-hour news cycle. Now we also have a teaser poster for the highly anticipated comedy sequel that doesn't need the faces of Will Ferrell, Paul Rudd, Steve Carell and David Koechner to get people excited.

The teaser poster for Adam McKay's Anchorman: The Legend Continues from Emileeid:

We haven't been following the Men in Black 3 viral campaign that closely these last few months, mostly because it has been a bit lackluster, to be totally honest. In fact her TV endeavors have actually proven to be much more fruitful. Maybe she can spice things up a bit with a new comedy called Hit & Run which has her on the run with her When in Rome co-star Dax Shepard from a dreadlocked Bradley Cooper. The film follows former getaway driver Charlie Bronson (Shepard) who jeopardizes his Witness Protection to help his girlfriend get to LA, but his former crew (led by Cooper) and a U.S. marshal are hot on his trail in the first trailer. Here's the first trailer for David Palmer and Dax Shepard's comedy Hit & Run from Yahoo! Movies:

Red Flag Releasing has debuted the first official trailer for the indie comedy The Do-Deca-Pentathlon, written and directed by brothers Jay & Mark Duplass (who I interviewed earlier this year for their other film Jeff Who Lives at Home), starring Mark Kelly and Steve Zissis as brothers. When the Academy Award nominations were announced earlier this year, there was plenty of head scratching. Aside from the snubs which we're talked about on various occasions before, in the animated feature film category, one nomination came out of left field with A Cat in Paris. Barely anybody had heard of the film, and it was disappointing that The Adventures of Tintin didn't get a nod instead. However, for all we know the film is an animated treasure, and audiences can find out soon enough as the first trailer for the English-dubbed version, featuring Anjelica Huston and Marcia Gay Harden has arrived. Watch below!

Here's the trailer for Jean-Loup Felicioli and Alain Gagnol's A Cat in Paris via The Playlist:

For awhile we've heard various details about Michel Gondry's newest film The We and the I, which will be making its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival this month (stay tuned right here for all of Alex's coverage). Previously we heard that the film would follow a group of unknown actors as a group of school kids who travel into the future by mistake and discover a machine that keeps people younger. Sounded like a Gondry film to us, but with the first trailer just revealed, this looks like a Spike Lee movie, but a bit more uplifting and with a coming-of-age charm at the heart of it. At the very least, it seems refreshing. Watch it!

The line between fake movie premises and real ones is becoming increasingly small in today's movie landscape. A few years ago, it was obvious that certain films were never going to get a greenlight because their concepts were simply too ludicrous to imagine. But this news story has me scratching my head and rethinking what is possible in the movie industry today. Variety reports that Red Bull's media branch is producing a 3D parkour movie called Twist, based on Charles Dickens' classic novel Oliver Twist. The modern-day story sees the kids in the Fagin Gang using parkour to pull off a series of art heists. Um, what?

So who's responsible for this? The Brothers Lynch, who have directed short films before but haven't tackled a feature, came up with the modern retelling with Simon Thomas, but the "written by" credit is actually going to Kevin Lehane, the writer of a midnight ...

Yesterday, the four-minute "super preview" for The Amazing Spider-Man showed an impressive action sequence that had the perfect tone and style for the character, and yet still managed to distinguish itself from Sam Raimi's film adaptation. Every bit of footage has been quite impressive, and the posters promoting the film (we've already seen some stellar one sheets) just continue to look sleek and stylish. Now we have two more with the same style as the others, but one poster uses the POV, video game-esque shots that were prominent in the first trailer (and even in the most recent trailer) and the other just looks good.

This week our own Alex Billington is at the Cannes Film Festival (follow all his coverage right here), and he just recently highlighted a banner for one of the projects on sale at the festival this year, Brian De Palma's Passion. The steamy thriller follows a young businesswoman named Isabelle (Noomi Rapace) plots murderous revenge after her boss and mentor Christine (Rachel McAdams) steals some of her fresh ideas. Things only get more complicated when Isabelle ends up in bed with one of Christine's lovers. However, it seems like the women end up in bed together after seeing some first look photos and the official poster.

Our first look at Brian De Palma's steamy thriller Passion from the film's Facebook page (via The Playlist):

Things only get more complicated when Isabelle ends up in bed with one of Christine's lovers. However, it seems like the women end up in bed together after seeing some first look photos and the official poster. ›››

The track that the chart-topping group known as Florence + the Machine has already revealed their single Breath of Life for the film Snow White and the Huntsman, but now the standard music video complete with footage of recording the song and shots from the film has arrived. It's nothing spectacular, but it does have some great new footage from the June release, not to mention that you get to hear Florence's haunting, powerful voice run through the video. If you're interested in the soundtrack, it goes on sale May 29th with a score from James Newton Howard, (The Hunger Games) composer and more. Watch!

Upon arriving in Cannes, one of my first missions is to walk the Boulevard de la Croisette, the main street in Cannes where the fest takes place. Given this film festival is really about cinema above and beyond just the official selection, Hollywood (and smaller production companies) bring some of their bigger movies to the streets to advertise to the masses who flock here for the two weeks. This year is particular barren for marketing material, but there is a banner for Tarantino's Django Unchained and even Brian De Palma's Passion, plus some other good marketing we found along the way. Here are a few of the photos I've taken.

Up first I have to feature the Django Unchained, because it's really the best one here, but there's a few more.

Wait - what?! They're filming a secret film in Cannes, about Cannes, right now? Apparently it is indeed true. I was sent a link last week to an article on Forbes talking about how Alec Baldwin, who appears in Woody Allen's To Rome with Love (not premiering here), will be in town filming a movie the entire time he's here. Filmmaker James Toback (of Fingers, Love & Money, The Big Bang, Black and White, Tyson) is directing it, he "has an idea", and it's supposedly "a feature or a mocumentary about... the Cannes Film Festival." Very, very interesting. Baldwin has already been spotted in town with Toback, so it's all real. It's happening.

The article on Forbes doesn't seem to have many extra details, as they go on to say that it's a "secret" film being shot in Cannes. "The film crew will be hitting all the big parties and events, ...

"In the past, comets were perceived as a bad omen..." But now? Not to be confused with Dark Shadows, which just came out this weekend, David Cholewa's Dead Shadows is an upcoming French sci-fi horror film that we have actually written about before. Remember that impressive promo poster with the tentacles and baseball bat? These are the same film. This is about a comet passing close by Earth that seems to affect everyone and everything in Paris, turning people into wacky alien creatures, and much more. AICN found the first trailer from their Vimeo. I'm quite curious to check this out. "I hope you're not afraid of the dark."

Director Robert Rodriguez has not just one, but two sequels, currently making their way towards production. Machete Kills brings back Danny Trejo as the most kick-ass Mexican we've ever seen, and after seven years of waiting, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is finally making waves to follow-up the stylistic 2005 graphic novel adaptation with an all-star cast. Now it sounds like there's some advance promotion kicking off for the films, likely because of Cannes kicking off this week, as two early teaser posters have surfaced online. There's not any stunning imagery, but it's a good tease for each sequel. Look!
